Electroplating – Silver

Silver

Silver is often plated as a decorative coating on base metals, to enhance both the value and the appearance.

Silver is used widely in industry as a coating to extend life and give improved performance on electrical contacts. It is a versatile metal with deposition properties that can be varied (within limits), with industrial applications including thick plating used in heavy switchgear and complex circuit breakers.

The development of thermal management devices and components has led to the development of silver electroformed heat sinks for the electronics industry and to the manufacture of heat exchange systems for the biotechnology industry.
