Mould Making

The surface of an object can be moulded either using cold cure rubber material (RTV rubber) or a thermoset plastic that goes hard when baked in an oven.

RTV moulds can generally be used between 10 and 20 times whereas thermoset plastic moulds can generally be used only 4 to 6 times. Thermoset plastic moulds are considerably cheaper to make as they are easier to set up and the raw material is far cheaper than RTV rubber.
